Workshop Overview
Chemistry has shown multidirectional growth in several innovative areas, which range from the biomedical applications to the fascinating field of nanotechnology. Polysaccharides is a new area of polymers or materials science that is transforming the development of novel designer technology. This is important in developing and characterizing materials with very special properties. Thus, the related carbohydrate polymers are attracting much attention because of their potential for the applications as new functional materials in many research fields such as pharmaceutics, foods, medicines, tissue engineering, and cosmetics etc. This national conference is proposed to exchange information on new dimensions in such application areas. Further to address the priorities and to formulate the action plan to face the challenges ahead across the globe. We are pleased to offer you an excellent scientific programme, structured in Thematic Sessions covering different areas where nano-polysaccharides have a relevant role, co-organized by scientific experts in each field. We hope that it will be an enjoyable event that will provide an opportunity for delegates to discuss and share knowledge, ideas and expertise with colleagues and peers. The presence of dynamic personalities from the science background including Prof. Deepak Pental from University of Delhi, Dr D Sengupta from CSIR enlightened on the role of biomass as a sustainable resource for future technologies. The other speakers Prof. Mangla Joshi, IIT Delhi, Prof S Mozumdar, University of Delhi and Prof Anupama Sharma, Central University Punjab were amongst the key speakers to focus on the latest and emerging applications of biomasses particularly the polysaccharides derived from the animals such as chitosan, gelatin etc towards wound dressings, fibers, woven and non-woven fabrics to water treatment their lectures led to the Scientific knowledge then has to evolve into process technologies enabling economic, robust and safe production. Also benefits substantially from process analytics and the rapidly increasing abilities in modelling and simulation (and thereby control) of processes in the general area of reaction engineering.
