ABOUT THE CIRCULAR AND SUSTAINABLE TEXTILES WORKSHOP:
Circular economy in Textile is an important area for industries, retailers,
brands technologists, designers, managers, and any other people involved
in the textile product cycle. The growing environmental impacts from non-
renewable, non-sustainable materials and processing have forced to adapt
circular design and manufacture principles in the textile industry. Future
textiles and garments will be produced using circular economy principles
and linear economic principle of make-use-discard will be challenged. It is
time for everyone involved with the industry to think, learn and adapt how to
minimize waste, design a product for durability, recycle a product at the end
of use and drastically reduce wastes going to landfills and adverse impacts
on environment.

Textile recycling is the process by which old clothing and other textiles are recovered for reuse and product development.Textile recycling is the process of recovering fiber, yarn or fabric and reprocessing the textile material into useful products. Textile waste products are collected from different sources and are then sorted and processed depending on their condition, composition, and resale value. The circular textiles are based on the natural cycle, which evidences a perfectly balanced operation. In the circular economy, there is no such thing as waste, as it becomes a new source of resources, which, if possible, should add value to the new product. Today, the emergence of the circular and sustainable textiles is a need rather than an alternative. Textile sector worldwide is looking for innovative solutions to use large volume of pre and post consumer textile wastes. There is significant scope for the industry and professionals to work in this area.
